Renninger's Drum Circle

January 9th, 2010

6pm 'til ?

Free to all!

Bring a chair!

Rick Renninger has decided to have a drum circle on the grounds at the flea market on Saturday evening, December 12th.

It will be in the 'valley' that lies between the flea market at the top of the hill, and the antique market at the bottom of the hill.  You should be able to find it by looking for a big fire and a gathering of wonder full people!.

While I am not actually hosting this event, I will be helping and attending in hopes that it will be a success so that we can do more of them in the future!

Bring a chair, bring a smile, bring a drum (or other music producing instrument), bring your own beverages.

Don't let the weather stop you!  The fire and fabulous community spirit will keep us warm!!!

If you don't have a drum, you can still come to listen, dance, or get some great healing energy.

If you want to get a really reasonable drum, I will have several available at a huge discount, this weekend only, while they last.

Large (reg. $110) for $69

Small (reg. $45) for $29

For those who couldn't care less about drum circles

but read their email anyway :)

you must be rewarded!

Come in and tell me, this weekend only (1/9 - 1/10) that you don't (or DO) give a 'darn' about drum circles and you can get 30% off of the regular price of any one item in the store!!!

Web customers can participate also but must pay full shipping.

Yule Party recap

What a wonderful time we had!
Guests started arriving about 5pm, while Norman (the greatest Fire Tender EVER)
was building the fire.  He kept it going brilliantly for the entire evening.

Contributions to the Feast were set up on tables in the hallway - lots of fabulous food.
I know it was fabulous because there was very little left at the end of the night!

We were treated to a little 'drama' when the Oak King (Andrew) conquered the
Holly King (Gail) in a skit that was graciously written by Andrew.

The thieving gift exchange began when we were done eating.  Things were very 'civil' at first...  but with a little encouragement, the thieving began.  There was some rivalry over a hand made wand, a Yule altar set up, a big comfy blanket, a leather journal, some small ceramic drums, and other fantastic gifts - but the prize for bringing the Best Gift went to Denyse, who brought a beautiful black lace cloak with lined hood - which she made herself.

Then there was a little game of Let's Make a Deal, where I gave some people the opportunity
to trade their gift for some items I had selected from the shop.
And everyone ended up with door prizes!
All in all, it was a great time.

After some clean up (thank you SO much to those of you who helped - especially Deni and John!)
we then had a Winter Solstice ritual - losing to the fire what we needed to leave behind,
and tasting the sweetness of the life to come.

And to end the evening, the few guests that were left stayed to drum and dance around the fire
for a while.  We were all surprised and impressed by young Zak,
who took to drumming as if he were born to do just that!

I left close to midnight, feeling a great joy and contentment
that only comes from knowing love.
The gathering had nourished me - mind, body and soul.
I am so grateful to those who came to celebrate, and also grateful to those
who have blessed The Muse with your presence, energy and support
through these many wonder-full years.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart... MoJo, mother of The Muse
